VG30DE(z31) to VG30DETT (Z32)
« on: 07:35:29 AM / 23-Oct-13 »
I just wanted to know if a 5-speed VG30DE(z31) could fit directly onto an originaly auto VG30dett engine. Honestly don't know anything about vg's.

Would need the bellhousing for it imo it would be easier to Just get an 90a trans from a z32 as they are stronger then the w71c.

heads up the VG30DE isnt from a Z31. its from NA Z32s, the J30, Maxima of some year idk. maybe other cars. The Z31 has a VG30E same as S12 SE. The difference being the Z31/S12 VG is SOHC and other is DOHC. Very different engines even tho they are both VGs. If you were to do a DOHC VG swap (NA or Turbo) I would just buy a complete motor set. Engine/trans/harness/ecu/mafs/accessories/etc etc. Will be way easier to do the swap with that instead of piecing it together

There was a 300zr z31 that had a transitional version vg30de, but it has more in common with the vg30det used in the cima than the vg30de from the z32

That trans should bolt up, the trick will be the starter/flywheel/clutch stuff... z32 trans on a z31 vg30e requires maxima flywheel to work, the z31/z32 crank bolt pattern is different
