So after working on a camber fix for the IRS for my 87 se & failing. I pulled the plug on that project for a while. I'm going to revisit at a later date. but for now its on the back burner.

Taking its place is a 84 SRA s12 I bought and shipped from long beach. Everything that's on the 87 se is getting swapped over to the 84. still going to be rocking the ka24de. fully gutted, anything not needed will be removed.

With the start of this build. I want to do something different, instead of updates with pic's, I wanted to update with videos. there still will be pictures. but most updates will be videos (even though I sux on camera lol). Also would like to use my Instagram for updates. My Instagram account was created for this build and track events the car will taken to. So if you follow my Instagram your not going to see pointless updates of my life.

here is how I wired up my MKII cluster to the ka24de.

DONT PAY ATTENSION TO MY WIRE COLORS. THEY ARE WRONG.

I had to de-pin the plug because I cut the wires to short.

but I took picture of the plug and use paint to label hole on the plug that you need to tap into to get your tach to work. if your just doing a swap and not doing all your own wiring like me. then you shouldn't need to worry about the 12v ignition power & the ground. the stock harness should supply power & ground.  but if it doesn't work you might want to check to see if your getting power when the key is on to the 12V ignition & ground
*****see picture #1

the wire on the KA harness you need to use is the light green/black wire. there's a resistor next to coil wire that you can tap into. the resister is not needed. I removed it. on my s13 and it did nothing.

making good progress on the brake line setup. pretty stoked on the way it came out.

I used my new plasma cutter to make some sheet metal door panels came out pretty good in my opinion.

picked up some paint for the engine bay. got some black paint with roth purple flake, should pop

So my plans are to have the s12 drift ready by April. So I can hit up thunder hill raceway for there events. There are very few events out here. Reno is pretty small and only like 20 real drifters. When I say real drifters I mean people that come to the events. We had 2 events last year. Which I had a blast at. But we were schedule for 6 events, 4 were canceled. All because a nissan GTR r35 came off the track near the skid pad event. Our drift events are held but the SCCA. So until a barrier is built between the skid pad and the track, we can't use the skid pad while the track is hot. Now we do get the track, on days that the SCCA aren't using the full track. Which was only one day last year.

One track event is not enough to progress as a driver. Shit it's not even worth building a car for. So the big plan is to finish the car, buy a van & tow over to thunder drift. Which is the closest event to reno. Almost 3hrs one way. Yolo lol

thanks

worked on my hockey puck motor mounts today.

Thanks the mounts came out pretty good.

So I was a lil worried about using 3 pucks for the motor mounts. Cuz everyone I've seen uses 2, but it worked great. It sits where it would if I used the stock ka mounts. But I did use lowering motor mount brackets. Thinking about trying 2 if I can't clear the MK1 hood with three.

So I also found out the my se tranny with the ka bell housing is 1/2 longer then the b tranny. So now my driveline won't fit. So either I need to switch over my ka bell housing or get the front section of a MK2 drive line

IggyEGuana

yep mk2 vs mk1 driveline. gotta get the front half off a mk2. or get a 1 piece made

Yeah there's a mk2 in picknpull I'm going to pick one up. You know if the mk2 5speed trans crossmember will work?

IggyEGuana

mk1 and mk2 trans mounting is different. the spots on the chassis are different and the crossmembers too
