[WI] My 87 XE $1200
« on: 05:04:07 PM / 05-May-14 »
I really don't want to sell it, but I don't really have the time or money to keep it anymore.
It's got ring issues on #1 (low compression, now burning oil), and I think an injector pooped out, but should be serviceable... Probably just bore/hone it out to 87MM and drop in some nice alloy pistons.

Before it started having issues, it was making at least 300BHP, if not 300WHP. I never got the chance to have it on the dyno.

I would really like to get $4k for the whole lot, I'll even toss in whatever extras I have (original rear springs, original front prop shaft, extra diffs, nearly complete S13 rear suspension).

Engine:
S14 SR20DE+T, with 9.5:1 pistons
Deatschwerks 450CC injectors with adjustable regulator set to 60PSI (makes the injectors 528CC)
Cosworth head gasket
ARP head studs
50 trim, .48AR T3 turbo
Emusa top mount cast iron manifold
Emusa 38MM external wastegate (TiAL knock-off)
Full 3" exhaust
Bosch 023 in-tank fuel pump (good to 600HP)

Suspension:
KYB GR2 shocks all around
Eibach 300LB/in front springs
Ground control adjustable front perches
VW Passat front springs in the rear (300LB/in, 1"+ lift)
Prothane control arm bushings
Solid subframe mount
Stock brakes with ceramic pads all around (more than enough to lock up all 4)
Original BartCo front strut tower brace
DIY "power brace" for the front caster brakets
Just installed stainless braided brake hoses

If you've never see it, the car is completely stripped on the inside, I have started making a new dash, but it's rough right now (it works), other than that... No head liner, no panels, barely front carpet, etc.
I've weighed the chassis, and it clocks in at 2230LBS.
Paint is rattle can, never got around to making it nice (only the passenger door), no major rust (just surface stuff from last winter).

Fix the engine, add a cage, go drifting.

Build thread is in my signature... Make an offer, try not to insult me! :P

I'd like to keep it somewhat local, you'll have to have to bring a tow dolly.
(it may still start/run, though I had to "borrow" a rubber fuel hose :))

Edit:
A few pics...

Edit:
Sold strut bar...

I can and will if no one wants it, but I just don't really have the money/energy to put into it anymore... I've had it for almost 10 years now

Oh, also the rear suspension is 100% solid mounted to the chassis, has a delrin plastic bushing for the diff mount and solid subframe mounts, as well as poly swing-arm bushings.
Also the diff in the car is welded, as is one of the other spares and the third one is still open (I think).

Edit:
And after thinking about it, I'll keep the MegaSquirt in it, but I'll put the old MS1 chip back in and keep the MS2 upgrade... MS2 was just mostly for idle quality/LED displays/playing around, other than that, it runs just the same on MS1.

Edit 2:
Oh, and that $4k is just what I would like to get out of it, but I'm not really expecting it... Like the post says, make an offer.

Sentra block is different from the RWD SR's, unfortunately.
The block is serviceable though, it just needs a bore/hone and new pistons... I could fix it, since I don't have to drive it anymore, but I don't know if I really want to put the time/money in it, since it's no longer registered now.

I know, but I need my garage back...
If I didn't have the 58 beetle in there already, I'd probably hang on to it, but I'll have the beetle for another 2 or 3 years yet.

Might find some love on clubfr. Some still love the s12, and your car is already 2/3 the way there...

Again, worth a shot!
