how to reinstall crank pulley bolt?
« on: 05:36:18 PM / 17-Sep-15 »
Had to change a head out for a new one, now I'm done except I need to tighten this ccrank pulleys bolt. but the engine turns and I can't figure out a way to stop it. I have an auto trans and there is no holes on the pulley for me to install a chain n Allen wrench to hold it. Any help??

I forgot to add I've been looking online for hours.

Impact wrench, they are relatively cheap at Harbor Freight.

OK thanks will try it. I hears there may be an inspection port for the transmission to stick a crow bar through maybe???

Likely so, but both of mine are standard so I don't know that one. Could maybe remove the starter and get access to ring gear and use your crowbar against the teeth?

I ended up shoving a wedge of wood in between the pully and the engine or something, but i was able to but over 90 pounds on it (highest my wrench will read)

Have you tried putting the car in the DRIVE gear?
