What is needed to swap in a vg30et?
« on: 10:08:49 PM / 23-Feb-19 »
I am planning on swapping in a remanufactured VG30Et from a 300zx into my SE.

What is everything that I need in order to do this?
Will having AC also be possible?

Please help me if you have any experience or information.

I have no experience and I will be paying for everything so Im just trying to gather all the information possible in order to be efficient since it will be a paid job.

Thank you

If i remember correctly, the crossover might run over the bell housing at the back of the motor and require firewall modding issues.
But ive never done it - just remembering others mentioning that.

The search should lead you to others who've done it.

Working purely off memory here, the main issue will be exhaust fitment on the drivers side.  Expect to have a complete custom exhausts and headers created to fit around the steering linkage.  There are other minor issues but if my aging memory is correct the one big issue is needing custom headers.  There is at least one write up here in the archives.  I don't remember anybody doing it in recent years.  Most people decide to just do a custom setup.  Make sure you post some pictures and details as your build progresses please.

Since the car is already with the VG engine, I believe that the only thing that needs to be done is the new mountings of the turbo.
Everything else comes from the old engine. Oilpan and engine mountings

You will be where I am at needing a custom turbo manifold.

I just went carb for the time being before I swap in the vg30de (still deciding if I am going twin turbo setup or stay N/A)
