new s12 ca18et

as the title states I'm buying a new S12, its a 85 CA18ET, I have owned 2 others in the past both CA20 coupes, i have also owned many many S13s, Z31s, Z32s and other Nissans, I've always liked the CA18DETs but never had the chance to own any CA18 engines, the car isn't pretty by any means and will most likely be turned into a drift/track car, I'm going to use it as a learner car for both my girlfriend and my daughter and I'm a firm believer in never throwing someone whos learning into an overpowered car.

That said, is the CA worth messing with? the few I have seen in other cars have always been fairly reliable and made decent power, I'm not opposed to a turbo KA swap, or stock SR swap I would just rather keep it CA18 powered if it makes sense, I would prefer to not throw 10k plus at it but I would still like to make around 200 crank HP, what common problems do the CAs have? anything I need to really be worried about to keep an eye out for?
