That car in the UK made 250whp ... on a remapped Peugot ECU. He went with the Pug, because they use the same Bosch FI setup we do (Jetronic)
Now, let\'s also not forget a) this was a magazine article, and b) they even mention in the article that a few ca18ets blew apart for this project.
IMHO MrBob\'s adaptor is a much better solution than that weirdo rainbow manifold. At least the factory manifold has more equal exhaust pulses rather than trying to fill a giant metal U, then spool a big turbo.
I\'m also curious as to where this arbitrary \"230-250 whp\" that our internals will handle came from. I have yet to see a ca18et come apart from too much power. Too much boost and not enough fuel totally, horrible maintenance, or 300,000+ mile motors giving up ... but never a power breakage.
I don\'t really see why everyone gets their panties in a twist over tuning.
Yes tuning is very important. And sure, you can spend 11 hours on the dyno at $50 an hour to make 3 more hp than when you came in.
Or you can baseline it and tune by what information you need and spend your time driving.
For a very simple bolt on solution, Mr Bob and one_equals_two have made probably the best leap forward on this board.
At 1Bar that T3 is just starting to do its job. Give it another 1/2 and if the motor takes it, this car will fly.
