The VG30DE is a very tight fit and requires quite a bit a fab work.

What engine are you starting out with? There have been a few differant conversions done. Have a look in the hybrid section. There are a lot of discussions on what to swap in there.

SR motor = Lighter/has oober amounts of aftermarket support.
VG(24v) = Heavier than a built 350 sb. still has aftermarket support, Can make some crazy power, but costs a ton more. HAve you considered a KA24DE? Ie a 2.4 Liter DOHC 4cyl?

Yeah i though about  a KA but before anything i was just wondering if anyone has ever used the Sr20 out of the NX2000

There\'s a lot of junk that has to be changed to get it to work in RWD configuration.  It\'s doable, but a lot of work.  You can usually get a JDM SR20DE for a pretty fair price with the wiring harness, ecu, and tranny.  DE\'s get no respect, thus the low price.  I almost snagged one a while back for $400.  Plus, the FWD SR\'s have the distributor in the back of the head, so, if it\'s mounted in a RWD chassis, the distributor will be in the firewall.

So, I\'m guessing you\'re not wanting to go turbo?  I\'d still like to see a VG30DE in an S12, if you\'re not scared of the little fab work required...
