black stripe

on the mk2. it has a huge black plastic stripe that runs along the whole car.
this stripe is permanent on the bumpers. but other than that you can take it off...
so first how do you take it off without braking it in case i have to put it back on.

also can i fit mk1 bumpers on the mk2? or is there anything i can do (I CAN DO)  to shave off that ugly stripe?]]]

any suggestions would be great thanks.....

cus i ve seen cars on the street and when this strip falls off . plastic or metal clips stay behind on the metal panel.

the strips on my car were just on with some kind of double sided tape. but my doors had 2 clips that held them on also. I had the square holes the clips went in welded shut. I just went around the car and riped them all off with my hands.I riped the clips out of the door and broke them cause I dident want to put them back on. since you want to keep them I would say take off the door pannel and take care of the clips befor pulling it off.

yeah mine are nasty black,
but the bumper part is permanent.
so ima have to go custom

cus i was going to pay to get the body kit from the uk, but the freeking silvia god, is too busy so he said no.

so ima have to custom fit something else

Try painting them over.....they make paint with a flexible binder for rubber/vinyl parts on cars, any decent paint shop should know how to admix it.
