being that my 200sx is obd1 and the ka ecu that i have for my swap is obd 2, do you think that this will cause a problem?  the ka24de ecu that i have is from a 96. should i try to find one from an s13?

I would use the S13 ECU.  The OBD II could be a pain to get up and going.  Everything from the Airbags to radio are tied into the ECU as well as the ABS.  It can be done, but the S13 is much simpler system.

actually i think your car would be pre obd.....

95 is when cars started switching from OBD I to OBD II. So the 96 would be OBD II. 95 is one of those years that is like the 86 change over for our cars, except some cars where OBD II some were partial and others were OBD I. So a 94 or older ECU would be the ticket.

Remember S13 KA24DE and S14 KA24DE are sllightly different. You\'re better off getting the S14 OBD-I unit. Most \'95 S14s are OBD-I. Some \'95s are OBD-II, but it is fairly rare. ABS also isn\'t so common, as they were only available as an option on models before 98

Wait a sec, I was under the impression that the KA24DE you have is from a 95+ model. What year is the engine? If you don\'t match the engine up to the ECU you will have problems. You can get the proper ECU for around $100 or less, might want to consider this if you\'re going to be mis-matching.

engine is A 96.  ecu and harness are from a 91.
